Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam will host the Asia-PacificICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards in Ha Long city, the northern province of QuangNinh, from November 18-22, said the Vietnam Software and IT ServicesAssociation on August 6.
The event isexpected to bring together 1,000 delegates from businesses and organisationsfrom 16 member countries and economies of APICTA.
It will enableVietnam to introduce its land, people and IT development, while providing aplatform for domestic firms and organisations to meet foreign partners, thusopening up more opportunities for Vietnamese IT products and software solutionsto compete and gain a foothold in regional arena.
Recently, adelegation of senior leaders, including 23 delegates from 14 APICTA membernations and economies, arrived in Vietnam to inspect the host country’spreparation for the event.
Jit Singh SantokSingh, founder and Chairman of the APICTA Awards, highly valued the organisingcommittee’s thorough preparations for the event.
As part of theevent, two international seminars on digital transformation and smart cities developmentwill be held on November 20, with 400-500 delegates taking part.
Other activitiesinclude exhibitions, trade exchanges between domestic and foreign IT firms, anda Vietnamese culture night.
Hosted by the APICTA,the international awards aims to stimulate ICT innovation and creativity,promote economic and trade relations, facilitate technological transfer, andoffer business matching opportunities via exposure to venture capitalists andinvestors. It is considered the “Oscar of the ICT arena in Asia-Pacific” andheld annually and alternately in APICTA member countries.-VNA
