Hanoi (VNA) – Numerous activities arebeing held across the country to mark the 73rd anniversary of the VietnamPeople’s Army (December 22).
The events also aim to celebrate the28th anniversary of All People’s Defence Festival Day (December 22), the 45thanniversary of the Dien Bien Phu in the Air Victory, and 50 years of theMau Than Offensive in Spring 1968.
The General Political Department under the Defence Ministry held an artperformance on December 19 in Hanoi with the participation of military artists.
The show featured songs, dances and a traditional opera play praising thecountry and soldiers.
The same day, another art performancehighlighting the country’s sea and island was held in Hanoi by the Ministry ofInformation and Communication, General Political Department of thePeople's Army and the Voice of Vietnam
The event aims to honour generations of officers, soldiers, and residents wholive and work in coastal areas and on islands, who have overcome hardship andchallenges to safeguard the country’s sea and islands.
Meanwhile, over 200 photos and 400 books on the formation and development ofthe Vietnam People’s Army over the past 73 years are on display at an exhibitionthat opened the in the northern port city of Hai Phong on December 19.
More than 100 photos, documents and objects highlighting achievements of Hanoiand Hai Phong people during the Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air campaign arealso exhibited in the city. The exhibition runs until December 25.-VNA
