Prague (VNA) – A celebration to mark the 73rd anniversary of theVietnam People’s Army Day (December 22) was held on December 17 in Prague bythe Vietnamese War Veterans Association in the Czech Republic.
The event drew the participation of war veterans and their families as well asrepresentatives from organisations of the Vietnamese community in the centralEuropean country.
It highlighted the importance of war veterans to the community.
According to Nguyen Duy Nhien, Chairman of the Vietnamese People Association inthe Czech Republic, they hold important positions in many organisations andmade significant contributions to promoting the image of Vietnamese expatriatesin the country.
Since its establishment on December 22, 2014, the association has developedfrom just only two branches - the Karlovy Vary and five brothers - to ninebranches with nearly 600 members.
Meanwhile, Duong Dinh Tuy, Chairman of the Vietnamese War Veterans Associationin the Czech Republic, stated that the association is working to completeprocedures to become a member of the Vietnam War Veterans Association.
Attendants at the event were impressed by the stellar art performance deliveredby nine branches of the War Veterans Association in the host country. -VNA
