HCM City (VNA) – The third Coffee Expo Vietnam 2018 will be held inHo Chi Minh City next week, attracting 250 brands from 10 nations.
The event, which is slated from November 1 – 3 at the Saigon Exhibition andConvention Centre (SECC), will display and introduce equipment and materialsfor coffee making beverages, as well as bakery tools and materials of domesticand international brands.
The annual expo also offers coffee and confectionery business and shop owners toseek sources of high quality materials as well as learn about business andinvestment activities.
A special highlight of the event is the Vietnam Super Barista Championship withattractive prizes worth up to 200 million VND.
Coffee was first cultivated in Vietnam in 1857. To date, Vietnam’s coffeegrowing areas reached 20,000ha. The country exports 1.8 million tonnes ofcoffee beans, raking in 3.2 billion USD per year. Vietnam is currently theworld’s second largest coffee exporter, after Brazil.
Vietnam exported 1.46 million tonnes of coffee worth 2.77 billion USD in thefirst nine months of 2018, an increase of 20.1 percent in volume and 0.4percent in value compared to the same period last year. - VNA
