The 15-m high pole is being built at the highest point of the island (188 meters high from the sea level).
It is one of the seven flagpoles that the youth organisations havebeen building at the national outpost islands, namely Bach Long Vy(northern port city of Hai Phong), Cu Lao Xanh (central Binh Dinhprovince), Phu Quy (central Binh Thuan province), Con Son (southern BaRia-Vung Tau province), Tho Chu (southern Kien Giang province), and HonLao (central Quang Binh province).
The programme isjointly carried out by the HCYUCC, the CAVS, and the Bank for Investmentand Development of Vietnam (BIDV) with an aim to raise sense ofresponsibility among the youths for safeguarding the national seas andislands sovereignty.
The flagpole at Tran islandwill be completed on May 19 on time for the 125 th birthday anniversaryof late President Ho Chi Minh.-VNA
