The annual programme will include a ceremony to offer incenseand flowers to Hung Kings, a trip in Metro Line No.1 Suoi Tien-Ben Thanh andexchanges with localities.
OVs will attend a seminar spotlighting Resolution No.98/2023/QH15on a number of special mechanisms and policies for the development of Ho Chi MinhCity, and join a city tour on February 1.
On February 2, participants will offer incense to PresidentHo Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang, and engage in the traditional ritualof releasing carps. They will also pay a courtesy call to leaders of HCM Cityand tour the headquarters of the municipal People’s Committee.
They will be received by leaders of the Vietnam FatherlandFront (VFF) Central Committee, during which outstanding OVs will be honoured.Leaders of HCM City and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a banquet forthem.
The highlight of the programme is a meeting between the OVsand State President Vo Van Thuong, and an art programme on February 2 night, whichwill be broadcast live on the Vietnam Television channels 1 and 4, and Ho ChiMinh TV (HTV).
First held in 2008, the “Xuan Que Huong” programme has attracteda large number of OVs from all over the world, becoming an awaited event forthem in Tet.
Last year, the art exchange held in Hanoi on January 14within the programme drew more than 3,000 delegates, including 1,000 OVs./.
