Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan (People) newspaper Thuan Huu (R) and President of China’s Xinhua News Agency Cai Mingzhao (Source: VNA)During the meeting, the host appreciated the significance of the visit, and highlightedthe traditional cooperation between Nhan Dan newspaper and the China Daily newspaper.
Huu told his guest that Nhan Dan newspaper receives many delegations from Chinesepress agencies every year, contributing to promoting exchange and communicationlinks between the two nations.
Cai Mingzhao, who is also a member of the Communist Party of China CentralCommittee, stressed that Party and State leaders of the two countries attachspecial importance to cooperation between the two Party newspapers (the NhanDan and the China Daily), and between the two State-run news agencies (VietnamNews Agency and Xinhua).
He urged mainstream press agencies of Vietnamand China to enhance collaboration, exchange of visits, and informationsharing, thus further fostering the friendship and mutual understanding betweentheir peoples.
Xinhua is willing to provide services and products for Nhan Dannewspaper through Xinhua’s office in Vietnam, he said.
The two sides shared the view that mainstream press agencies shouldcontinuously reform themselves and increase their voices and presence in the internetin order to meet increasing information demand.-VNA
