World Vision helps Thanh Hoa reduce disaster impacts

World Vision will provide over 1.1 million USD for the central coastal province of Thanh Hoa to improve its capacity in natural disaster risk prevention and mitigation.
World Vision will provide over 1.1 million USD for the central coastalprovince of Thanh Hoa to improve its capacity in natural disasterrisk prevention and mitigation.

T heinformation was released at a seminar on Oct. 25 to launch the CoastalAreas of Thanh Hoa province Resilient to Natural Disasters (CATREND)project.

CATREND aims at helping communities in coastal and estuaryareas in Hoang Hoa and Quang Xuong districts to reduce vulnerabilityand adverse socio-economic impacts of natural disasters by linkingdisaster preparedness with mitigation and climate change adaptationmeasures in a comprehensive way.

According to Director of WorldVision Vietnam , Thanh Hoa area, CATREND project will conduct manyactivities, such as preparing information and communication documents,organising seminars and training courses as well as supporting radio andtelevision programmes on communitiy-based natural disaster mitigation.

In addition to the project, Word Vision has conducted developmentprogrammes in seven disadvantaged mountainous districts in Thanh Hoa.
The organisation is also implementing a project to improve living conditions for children in the province./.

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year

Chinese sick sailor on vessel AMIS STAR provided with first aid
