Hanoi (VNA) - The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is organising a hostof activities in response to World Oceans Day 2020 and Vietnam Sea and IslandWeek from June 1 to 8, which spotlight the importance of innovation for the sustainabledevelopment of Vietnam’s marine-based economy.
Activities includeonline conferences and seminars on the management, exploitation, and use ofnatural resources and the protection of the sea and island environment towards sustainabledevelopment and unified management.
Such activities offer an opportunity to introduce new ideas, products, andsolutions that highlight innovations in fields relating to the ocean, such astechnology, infrastructure networks, management of resources, products, and newtechnologies.
They focus on popularisingParty’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws on issues relating to Vietnam’ssea and islands, in order to attract investment and enhance national economic potential.
Localitiesnationwide are also arranging public activities and will launch emulationmovements to attract community participation, especially young people andwomen, including campaigns to clean up the marine environment and collect and treatwaste./.
