World leaders congratulate Vietnam on 73rd National Day

Hanoi (VNA) – Leaders of manycountries have sent congratulations to their Vietnamese counterparts on the73rd National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945).

General Secretary of the Communist Party ofChina Central Committee and President of China Xi Jinping offeredcongratulations to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang. ChinesePremier Li Keqiang sent the congratulatory message to Prime Minister NguyenXuan Phuc, while Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’sCongress of China Li Zhanshu extended greetings to Chairwoman of the VietnameseNational Assembly Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

In their messages, the leaders of the ChineseParty, State, Government and National People’s Congress highly valued theachievements Vietnam has obtained over the past time, voicing their belief thatunder the CPV’s leadership, the Vietnamese people will definitely soon realisethe target of building a socialist State with prosperous people, a strongcountry and an democracy, equitable and civilised society.

They affirmed that China attaches importance todeveloping relations with Vietnam and is willing to join Vietnam in developingtheir comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a stable, healthy andsustainable manner.

General Secretary of the Lao People’sRevolutionary Party and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith, Prime MinisterThongloun Sisoulith and Chairwoman of the National Assembly Pany Yathotou alsosent congratulatory messages to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, PresidentTran Dai Quang, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The Lao leaders expressed their delight at theunceasing development of the great friendship, special solidarity andcomprehensive cooperation between the two countries’ Parties, States andpeople. They once again thanked the Vietnamese Party, State and people fortheir previous, timely and effective support for Laos to address recent floodconsequences in Attapeu province.

They also affirmed that despite how complex theregional and international situation is, the Lao Party, State and people will,together with Vietnam, continue nurturing the special bilateral relations.

Meanwhile, Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, theCentral Committee of the Cambodian People’s Party, Prime Minister Samdech TechoHun Sen, President of the Senate Say Chhum and the senior parliamentarianSamdech Heng Samrin also sent letters of congratulations.

They congratulated Vietnam on the majorattainments it has gained under the CPV’s leadership, which they said havehelped improve the country’s role and stature in the region and the world.

They applauded the growth of the solidarity,traditional friendship, and comprehensive, sustainable and long-termcooperation between the Cambodian and Vietnamese Parties, Governments andpeople. They showed the resolve to intensify those ties, wishing Vietnam toharvest even greater victories in national development.

In his messages sent to the Vietnamese Presidentand PM, President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba MiguelDiaz-Canel Bermudez offered the warmest congratulations and stressedthe determination to strengthen the long-lasting friendship, fraternity andcooperation between the two nations.

The leaders of Vietnam also receivedcongratulations from Russian President Vladimir Putin, PM Dmitry Medvedev,Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin, and Chairwoman ofthe Federation Council Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko.

The Russian leaders highlighted that thecountries’ time-tested friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership haverecorded dynamic strides and achieved big accomplishments in enhancing thetrustworthy political ties and relations in economy-trade, science-technology,culture and humanism, thus ensuring their people’s interests and contributingto the stability and security in the Asia-Pacific region.

They also expressed their belief that theupcoming official visit to Russia by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong willpromote win-win bilateral cooperation in all aspects, as well as close coordinationin global and regional issues of mutual concern.

Singaporean President Halimah Yacob and PM LeeHsien Loong also extended congratulations to their Vietnamese counterparts,saying that Vietnam has made great socio-economic progress over the past years,become one of the fastest growing economies in the region, and also been a leadingoption of foreign investors, including those from Singapore.

They emphasised that the two countries areenjoying a sound relationship. Notably, they are celebrating 45 years ofbilateral diplomatic ties and five years of the strategic partnership. Theleaders hope to continue working closely with the Vietnamese side to expandcooperation and bring the countries’ relations to a new height in the timeahead.

In his message sent to PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, ThaiPM Prayut Chan-o-cha noted that Thailand and Vietnam have close and dynamicrelations based on the common visions and interests along with long-standingpeople-to-people exchanges. He affirmed the resolve to cooperate closely withVietnam in reinforcing bilateral links for the common interests and prosperityof their people and the region.
