Hanoi (VNA) - The WorldEconomic Forum on ASEAN 2017 (WEF ASEAN 2017), slated for next week in PhnomPenh, is expected to further promote sustainable development, peace, stabilityand prosperity in the region.

According to the Cambodian ForeignMinistry, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Lao Prime Minister ThonglounSisoulith, representatives of heads of state/government and ministers fromacross the Asia-Pacific region will be also present.

This year’s agenda will focus on howthe region's expanding young and dynamic workforces can be engaged in ways thatbuild the brightest future for the region, giving Cambodia a chance to raiseits international profile.

WEF was established in 1971 as anot-for-profit foundation with its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Theforum holds annual meetings in Davos, Switzerland, but also convenes regionalmeetings each year across Africa, Europe, Latin America and ASEAN.
