The photo of Venerable ThichQuang Duc setting himself on fire 1963 by American photographer MalcolmBrowne and the photo of a girl burned by napalm bomb in 1972 byVietnamese American photographer Nick Ut are among the most famousportrayals.
As one of the largest news agencies,the AP is hoped to continue covering Vietnam’s development toreaders around the world, including the American people, to increase theVietnam-US friendship, solidarity and cooperation.
Director of the AP in Asia Ted Anthony said the ongoing visit of the APdelegation to Vietnam aims to mark the normalisation of relationsbetween Vietnam and the US two decades ago, as well as study thesituation in Vietnam and organise activities to strengthen bilateralfriendship and diplomatic ties.
Representativesfrom the Vietnam Journalists Association, the Vietnam News Agency, andthe Vietnam People’s Army newspaper participated in the event to shareexperience in digital journalism with AP partners.
The AP, which is headquartered in New York, provides news to around1,700 newspapers and 5,000 video and radio programmes in the world.-VNA
