At the event, defence senior officialsof the bloc’s member countries updated preparations for the ADMM+ andcompared notes on details of ADMM+ from the agenda for the meeting tojoint statements.
They engaged in a discussiondraft focusing on potentials, prospects and practically cooperativeorientations within the framework of ADMM+ and planned to send the draftto ADMM+’s member countries in mid-July.
They alsoagreed on a number of meetings before ADMM+, which is expected to takeplace in December, including ADSOM-WG, ADSOM to be held in August andADMM to be held in October.
Deputy DefenceMinister, Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, who is also head of ADSOMVietnam, said ADSOM-WG is of significance as this is the first meetingon promotion and preparation of ADMM+.
Eight pluscountries of ADMM+, including the US, Russia, China, Japan, the Republicof Korea, India, Australia and New Zealand, are expected to attend themeeting to share experience and responsibility in ensuring security andpeace in the region as well as the world./.
