The official website of the 26th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum, which will be held in Vietnam in January 2018, was launched in Hanoi on November 17.

Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan and her deputy TongThi Phong launched the official website of the 26th Asia-Pacific ParliamentaryForum (APPF-26) at a ceremony held in Hanoi on November 17.

The website,available at http://appf26.vn, consists of sevenmain sections in Vietnamese and English. It offers official and updatedinformation on the event, which will be held in Vietnam in January 2018.Delegations of participating countries and news agencies can also register toonline conferences through the website.

 At the ceremony,the APPF-26 logo was also introduced, which features the image of the VietnamNational Assembly House and national flag.

The APPF wasfounded by former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone on March 15, 1993.Bringing together parliamentarians from across the Asia-Pacific region, theforum aims to directly assist the APEC, contributing to peace, stability andprosperity in the region.

The APPF is amechanism that enables parliamentarians to discuss issues of common concern,and to deepen their understanding of the region and the interests andexperience of its diverse members. The forum’s proceedings address political,security, economic, social and cultural issues, thus furthering regionalcooperation and building relations between and among parliamentarians from theAsia-Pacific region.
