The company's turnover reached 1.85 trillion VND (85.6 million USD), representing a 37 percent year-on-year rise.

Figuresreleased during a conference held in Hanoi on July 16 to unveil thetasks before VTC in the second half of the year showed that its profitof 81.6 billion VND during the six-month period amounted to 80 percentof its target for the entire year.

VTC's subsidiary, VTCIntecom, contributed the highest turnover of 1.23 trillion VND in theoverall result, posting a 49 percent year-on-year increase. Thecompany's profit reached 100 billion VND, which is much higher than 27billion VND profit it made during the same period last year.

VTCDigital reported a turnover of 226 billion VND and a profit of 33billion VND, while VTC Media posted a turnover of 45 billion VND and aprofit of 2.8 billion VND.

The corporation contributed 222billion VND (10 million USD) to the State budget, posting a 54 percentyear-on-year increase and meeting 75 percent of the year's target. Itpaid an average monthly salary of 14.4 million VND per worker.

DamMy Nghiep, VTC's General Director, said the company's restructuring, toreduce the number of its units from 49 to eight, had contributed to theresults.

Deputy Minister of Information and CommunicationsNguyen Thanh Hung hailed the results, which nearly reached the company'stargets for the entire year, saying that this year could be the mostsuccessful of the last three years for the firm. Hung asked thecorporation to focus on completing its planned tasks during the secondhalf of the year, especially with regard to the VTC Television division.The company was also urged to link the second phase of itsrestructuring to the next five-year development plan. The corporationshould pay attention to domestic and international regulations,especially the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement, to develop strategicdevelopment plans, Hung said.-VNA
