Bangkok (VNA/NNT) – Thailand’s Meteorological Department has cautioned people to protect themselves from the volatile weather, a result of the arriving winter and rainfall.

The relatively high pressure from China, which is still shrouding the Northeast, has now reached the North, East, and the central region. This is causing rainfall in upper Thailand to fade and the temperature to drop by 1-3 degrees Celsius.

Residents are advised to guard against health risks associated with weather. Agriculturists should prepare to prevent damage that might result from atmospheric changes.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon covering the South and the Gulf of Thailand has strengthened and has brought isolated thundershowers while heightening sea waves in the lower Gulf of Thailand by 2-3m.

Seaside residents should stay prepared for coastal hazards. Seafarers should exercise caution. Small boats should remain anchored during this period.-VNA
