On the trip, VNA representatives presented gift boxes provided by theagency’s Relief Fund for AO Victims to two families of AO victims. Thefund will give out gifts worth 500,000 each to ten families in Can Thoon the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival.
This is the second year VNA’s Relief Fund for AO Victims jointly heldthe event with the local association presenting Tet gifts to AO victimsin Can Tho to partly help them enjoy the traditional Lunar New Yearfestival.
Established in 2006, the VNA’s Relief Fund for AO Victims has so farprovided aid for nearly 2,000 AO victims in 63 cities and provincesnationwide.
According to the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange, up to4.8 million Vietnamese people have been exposed to AO, including 3million victims suffering from the affects of the deadly chemical./.
