Speaking at a working session with the newly-appointed heads ofVietnamese representative offices at the VNA headquarters in Hanoion June 16, the leader of the State-owned news agency asked theofficials to continue working closely with the VNA in the informationwork and providing information for the agency.
The VNA leader introduced his guests to the VNA’s network, which has 63local representative offices in all 63 provinces and cities acrossVietnam and 30 overseas bureaus.
Apart from supplying news and photos to subscribed users, the agency hasapproximately 60 different publications in both Vietnamese and foreignlanguages, including the electronic multi-language newspaper VietnamPlus, the English language newspaper Viet Nam News, the Tin Tuc (News)daily, the The Thao & Van Hoa (Sports and Culture) daily, the Frenchlanguage Le Courrier du Vietnam weekly and the multi-language VietnamPictorial magazine. It also runs its own television channel – the VNEWS.
Over the past 70 years, the VNA hasfulfilled its task as a national news agency, becoming a reliablestrategic information centre of the Party and State, and acting as abridge connecting Vietnamese people at home and abroad and foreignersaround the world, General Director Nguyen Duc Loi added.
On behalf of the diplomats, Deputy Foreign Minister Dang Minh Khoistressed the importance and necessity of coordination between the VNAand ambassadors and chiefs of overseas representative offices.
He pledged that VNA correspondents will receive support from chiefs of Vietnamese representative offices abroad.-VNA
