A workshop on opportunities for Vietnamese seafood in the United ArabEmirates (UAE) market is taking place in the UAE capital city of AbuDhabi from Nov. 21-23.
The event is jointlyorganised by the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers(VASEP) in cooperation with the Vietnamese Embassy to UAE on theoccasion of VASEP’s participation at the SIAL food fair Middle East 2011in Abu Dhabi .
Speaking at the opening,Vietnamese Ambassador Tran Ngoc Thach highlighted the recent strongdevelopment of the Vietnam-UAE trade relations, especially in the fieldof fishery, saying that the workshop is a good chance for the two sides’enterprises to seek cooperative opportunities in this field.
He stressed that the UAE is not only a sale market but also a gatewayfor Vietnamese seafood products to markets in Middle East and NorthAfrica .
UAE Vice Minister of Foreign TradeAbdullah Ahmed Al Saleh said the workshop will help businesses of UAEand Vietnam to gain better understanding on guidelines, policies andregulations in processing and exporting seafood products in the othercountry./.
