The Ministry of Industry and Trade(MoIT) released the information at a Vietnam - Slovakia BusinessForum, jointly organised in Hanoi on April 15 by the Vietnam Chamberof Commerce and Industry and the Slovak Embassy in Hanoi .
According to MoIT , Vietnam ’s export staples to Slovakia inrecent years included rice, coffee, cocoa, tea and garments. However,two-way trade has remained modest compared with the potential of bothsides.
MoIT Deputy Minister Le Danh Vinh saidtogether with the fine traditional relationship, the Vietnamesecommunity in Slovakia will work as a bridge to promote cooperativerelations between the two nations in the years to come.
The Slovak Minister of Economy, Juraj Miskov, said Vietnam isSlovakia ’s potential partner, expressing his hope that the businesscommunities of the two countries would build up effective andcomprehensive cooperative ties in the future.
Withinthe framework of the forum, the Bank for Investment and Development ofVietnam (BIDV) and the Export-Import Bank of Slovakia (Eximbanka) signeda cooperation deal, which is expected to facilitate trade and economicties between Vietnam and Slovakia./.
