At a recent workingsession in Havana , Vice President of the Vietnam Union ofFriendship Organisations (VUFO) Nguyen Van Kien and Vice President ofthe Cuban Institute for Friendship between Peoples (ICAP) AliciaCorredera committed to continue supporting each other at internationalforums.
They informed each other of VUFO’s and ICAP’s operations,especially preparations for the Asia-Pacific Regional Conference ofSolidarity with Cuba to be held in Phnom Penh , Cambodia , in2012, and shared experience in people-to-people diplomacy.
Kienemphasised the Vietnamese people’s consistent solidarity with theirCuban counterpart in the revolutionary cause, saying that the Vietnamesepeople have struggled to request the US Government to release fiveCuban young patriots who are being detained in US prisons.
