VITM reports 30,000 tour customers

Hanoi (VNA) - TheVietnam International Travel Mart (VITM), which took place in Hanoi from March27-30, attracted 30,000 customers with a turnover of 322 billion VND (14million USD).

“This year, the VITM welcomed 500 enterprises from 47 cities and provinces; and27 countries and territories,” according to Vu The Binh, a member of theorganising board.

Around 65,000 people visited the event.

The organising board launched a survey for the participating businesses, whichsaid 74.5 percent of them have committed to continuing participating in theVITM in 2020.

On the occasion, the Vietnam Administration of Tourism (VNAT) signed an MoUwith Vietjet Air to enhance co-operation to boost tourism and promoting thecountry’s image to the world.

“Vietjet Air join hands with VNAT to take part in internationaltravel marts across the world and organise promoting tourism programmesabroad," said Ha Van Sieu, vice chairman of VNAT.

“We expect that Vietjet Air will help connect Vietnam to the world through moredirect flights,” said Sieu.

Sieu also revealed that Vietnam received 5 million international tourists inthe first three months of this year, and expected the number to reach 18 millionthis year.-VNA
