The Ministry of Information and Communications has officiallyapproved adding the digit "1" to the "091" and "094" prefixes forVinaPhone, the third largest mobile operator in Vietnam.
Theministry's decision was announced on February 5, allowing VinaPhone tohave access to two million 10-digit mobile phone numbers.
With seven mobile phone prefixes, the operator currently has a total of 58 million phone numbers.
Theministry's allocation is part of its plan to transform telecom numbers,which require 11-digit mobile phone numbers into numbers with 10digits.
On January 23, the country's largest mobile operator Viettel was allocated 3 million 10-digit mobile phone numbers.-VNA
