Kien Giang (VNA) – Non-profitorganisation VinaCapital Foundation (VCF) and Thanh Ha Fish Sauce Co. Ltd presented pediatric emergency carts to Kien Giang General Hospital at aceremony on January 5.

The equipment is part of a programmedesigned to improve pediatric emergency capacity in the Mekong Delta provinceof Kien Giang.

On the occasion, 32 doctors from14 hospitals across the province took part in a pediatric advanced life support(PALS) course on teamwork first aid skills in emergency situations like heartstop, irregular heartbeat, and severe injuries.

VCF Chairman Don Lam said theorganisation has to date sponsored heart surgery for 217 children in Kien Giang.It worked with the Thanh Ha company to run the programme on improving pediatricemergency capacity at two hospitals and a medical centre on Phu Quoc island.

VinaCapital Foundation wasestablished in 2007 as a US-registered, non-profit, tax-deductible organisation,and was licensed as an international NGO in Vietnam.

Its operations aim at increasingliving quality for Vietnamese youths through healthcare and educationalopportunities.-VNA
