In his opening remarks,Assoc. Prof. and Dr Bui Nhat Quang, President of the Vietnam Academy of SocialSciences, said the international conference is the most important event ofresearchers on Vietnamese studies around the world and a scientific forumgathering the most valuable findings about the country and its people.
He noted this time’s workshophas attracted great attention from both domestic and international scholars,which is a persuasive demonstration of the country’s growing stature in theworld, as well as of the Vietnamese studies’ increasingly strong and positiveinfluence on the nation’s integration and development process, both at presentand in the future.
Speaking at the event, DeputyPrime Minister Vu Duc Dam said the political report at the 13th National Party Congress, held at the beginning of 2021, affirmed the viewpointof taking people as the centre, target, and impulse of development; inspiringthe aspiration for developing a prosperous and happy nation; and bringing intoplay the country’s role as an active and responsible member of theinternational community, thus helping make and keep peace and boost cooperationfor development in the region and the world.
He held that scientists,including those working on Vietnamese studies, need to continue studying toseek ways for tapping into the country’s values and potential so that it candevelop faster and more sustainably.
The conference received 730reports related to various areas, from history, economy and politics, tointernational relations, by domestic and foreign scholars, experts, andscientists.
