This is the first time the giant aircraft manufacturer has displayed its latest version with an airline’s trademark on it.
Speakingat a press conference, Boeing Vice Chairman Raymond Conner, highlightedadvantages of the new design such as energy-saving and loadingcapacity, environmentally friendly features.
Conner spoke highly of the sound collaboration between his company and Vietnam Airlines since 1999.
Vietnam Airlines General Director Pham Ngoc Minh expressed hisdelight toward a joint programme made by his agency and Boeing inpromoting Vietnam Airlines services.
He hoped that itis a fine start for the airline’s efforts to modernise its fleetoffering higher service quality for passengers.
According to Minh, in the following months, the latest Boeing versionwill fly on routes connecting Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh to London andFrankfurt.
By mid-year, Vietnam Airlines will becomethe first Asian carrier to operate both Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner andAirbus 350-900XWB, a move that marks its development progress.
The carrier is also striving for a four-star recognition within 2015and to be among leading aviation agencies in the South East Asian by2020.
Beginning in June 15 in Paris, the biennial show, one ofthe largest international expositions worldwide, lasts for a week,gathering 2260 aircraft makers and engine producers from 47 countries.-VNA
