- Vietnamese youth under the leadership of the Party was the main theme of a talk in Hanoi on January 19 on the occasion of the 12th National Party Congress which will take place in Hanoi from January 21-28.

The event, jointly held by the Quan doi Nhan dan newspaper and the Military Broadcasting Centre, brought together veteran revolutionaries, former leaders of youth movements and young delegates from the armed forces and localities.

The Communist Party of Vietnam considers young people a core and trustful reserve force of the Party, Major General Pham Van Huan, Editor in Chief of the Quan doi Nhan dan, said, emphasising that under the leadership of the Party, generations of young people have made great contributions to the Party, the country and the nation through the two national liberation wars and the national construction and defence.

During the current era of international integration, there need to be new forms to gather young people and take them along the revolutionary path selected by the Party and the nation.

Delegates highlighted the role of the Party in educating young people and establishing youth movements, many of which have become bright examples of Vietnam’s revolutionary history.

One of such movements was the “Ba san sang” campaign in the north, or “Nam xung phong” in the south, under which millions of young people volunteered to join the army to fight for national independence.

During the cause of national construction, young people eagerly join volunteer movements to support people in disadvantaged situation or defend the country.

Young delegates expressed their will to continue to march under the flag of the Party and contribute to the country.-VNA
