Tel Aviv (VNA) – Five Vietnamesestudents have completed an agricultural MSc programme, the third course, carried out under cooperation between theArava International Centre for Agriculture Training (AICAT) and Tel AvivUniversity (TAU) of Israel.
A graduationceremony was held for the five students and ten others from Kenya, Nigeria,Rwanda and Uganda at TAU on February 26.
Apart from thefive students and those who are attending the fourth course, there are morethan other 800 Vietnamese students studying and researching at agriculturalcentres and institutes of Israel.
Addressing theevent, Professor Raanan Rein, TAU Vice Rector, applauded efforts made by thestudents during the 18-month course.
The programmeaims to support global food safety and security, and equip internationalstudents with knowledge to contribute to their homeland, he said.
Khuat Van Quyen,a representative from the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel, thanked TAU and AICATfor their support for Vietnamese students, stressing this is a demonstration ofthe strong Vietnam-Israel relationship.
Launched in2014, the programme offers a good opportunity for Vietnamese students to accessIsrael’s modern agricultural knowledge and skills. Currently, there are fourcentres participating in the enrollment of students in Vietnam, includingAICATA, Ramat Negev, Sdot Negev and Agrostudies.-VNA
