The city’s 80 leadingenterprises are displaying a variety of products ranging from processedfood, household utensils, garment, textile, electronics, and interiordecorations at 125 stands.
A highlight of the fair is a“Common House” introducing achievements in politics, culture andeconomics of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of HCM City People’sCommittee Nguyen Thi Hong said the annual expo is an effective bridgeconnecting Vietnamese enterprises with Myanmar customers, and helps thetwo countries’ enterprises exchange information and seek new businessopportunities and partners.
The exhibition will run until May 26.
Vietnam now ranks eighth among foreign investors in Myanmar withseven projects worth 513 million USD. Two-way trade reached 480 millionUSD last year and enjoyed an average growth rate of nearly 40 percentbetween 2010 and 2014.
Trade between the two countries is expected to hit 1.5 billion USD in the next two years and 1.7 billion USD by 2020.-VNA
