Vietnamese PM highlights all-round ties with Algeria

At their meeting in Algiers, PM Nguyen Tan Dungcongratulated the host on his re-election as the President for thefourth term and attainments that the Algerian people have achieved innational stability, reconciliation, reform, and development.

He said the Vietnamese people always remember Algeria’s enormousassistance to their country in the national liberation and development.

Briefing President Bouteflika on outcomes of thetalks with PM Abdelmalek Sellal, the Vietnamese leader said the twosides extensively discussed issues of mutual concern, especially on waysto deepen multi-faceted cooperation.

They reachedhigh consensus on measures and orientations to bolster bilateral ties,particularly in investment, trade, labour, health care, culture, andtourism, he added.

He voiced his belief that withthe high determination of the two countries’ leaders and peoples, theirtime-tested friendship and collaboration will continue elevating to anew level.

For his part, President Bouteflika saidboth nations should keep nurturing their traditional amity and highlyvalued outcomes of the talks between the two PMs, especially theagreement on tightening links in fields like politics, economy, culture,education, defence, and security.

He also expressedhis support to Vietnam’s stance on peacefully settling disputes in theEast Sea with respect to international law, ultimately ensuring peace,stability, and maritime security and safety in the region.

At the meeting, PM Nguyen Tan Dung presented the Algerian Presidentwith memoirs written in French by former Vietnamese Vice PresidentNguyen Thi Binh.

At another meeting the same day,the Government leader asked the Vietnamese Embassy to work harder toenhance Vietnam-Algeria relations while expecting the expatriatecommunity to help popularise the land, culture, and people of Vietnam inorder to expand mutual understanding between the two countries.-VNA
