Vietnamese law firm joins SEA’s largest legal service provider

Vietnamese law firm Rajah & Tann LCT Lawyers (Vietnam) has together with seven law firms in other countries, formed a one-stop legal service provider named Rajah & Tann Asia.

The other firms are R&T Sok Heng Law Office (Cambodia), AssegafHamzah & Partners (Indonesia), Rajah & Tann (Laos) Sole Co Ltd,Christopher & Lee Ong (Malaysia), Rajah & Tann NK Legal MyanmarCompany Limited, Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP, and Rajah & Tann(Thailand) Limited.

In aninterview to Vietnam News Agency’s Singapore-based journalist, ManagingPartner of Rajah & Tann LCT Lawyers (Vietnam) Chau Huy Quang said byjoining Rajah & Tann Asia, his company planned to provide clientswith services relating to jurisdictions not only of Vietnam but also ofother countries in the region.

All theindividual firms within the network collectively have 11 offices in themajor cities in Southeast Asia as well as Shanghai. They comprise lawpractices in 8 out of the 10 ASEAN countries and include regional desksfocused on Japan and South Asia. This is expected to help the Asia lawfirm strengthen its areas of practice.

Rajah& Tann Asia comprises more than 500 fee earners, and is the largestlegal services provider in Southeast Asia. It is the first legalservices provider spanning the region that is fully owned, controlledand operated by Southeast Asian lawyers.

At aceremony held in Singapore on Aug. 21 to launch Rajah & TannAsia, Lee Eng Beng, Chairman of Rajah & Tann Asia, said that one ofthe catalysts for the formation of Rajah & Tann Asia was theimpending launch of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015, which ispoised to create enormous opportunities for intra-regional trade andcommerce for clients across the region.-VNA

ASEAN’s goods, culinary culture promoted in Europe

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
