Vietnamese, Lao embassies in RoK hold friendship exchange

Vietnamese and Lao embassies in the RoK organised a get-together to celebrate the two countries’ 55th diplomatic relations anniversary and 40 years of signing their Friendship and Cooperation Treaty.

Seoul (VNA) – The Vietnamese and Laoembassies in the Republic of Korea (RoK) organised a get-together in Seoul onJuly 15 to celebrate the two countries’ 55th diplomatic relations anniversary(September 5, 1962-2017) and 40 years of signing their Friendship andCooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977-2017).

Speaking at the event, the Vietnamese and Laoambassadors reviewed the development of Vietnam-Laos ties in five and a half decades.

They stressed that the relationship had beennurtured by generations of their leaders through different wartime periods whenthe two countries stood side by side to fight common enemies till finalvictories. 

Both sides agreed on the importance of thefriendship in the current time for the development of each nation as well asfor peace and security in the region and in the world.

It is necessary to educate the youngergenerations on the special partnership, they said, noting that there will bemore joint projects between the two embassies in the future.

As part of the gathering, a friendly sportexchange and a concert took place.-VNA

Bac Lieu, Korean locality sign labour cooperation agreement

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
