Manila (VNA) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on November 13 held a meeting withhis Lao and Cambodian counterparts Thongloun Sisoulith and Hun Sen on thesidelines of the 31st ASEAN Summit in Manila, the Philippines.

The leadersreviewed the outcomes of the implementation of agreements reached at the 9thSummit of Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle Area (CLV-9) in Siem Reapin November last year.

They agreed toboost connectivity among the three economies, including transport and energyconnectivity, open more pairs of border gates, and develop rubber and tourismindustries.

Other spheres oftrilateral cooperation include environmental protection, management and sustainableuse of natural resources, climate change adaptation and management of watersources, and mobilisation of capital, particularly from development partnersand business communities.

The PMs stressedthe need to incorporate CLV projects into cooperation programmes in the Mekongsub-region, the Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) cooperation mechanism, andthe Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS).

They exchangedexperiences in promoting cooperation in regional and international issues ofmutual concern and agreed to work with other ASEAN member states for thesuccess of the summit and the development of the ASEAN Community.-VNA
