Vietnamese, Japanese communist party officials hold talks

Hanoi (VNA) – Politburo member andpermanent member of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee’sSecretariat Vo Van Thuong held online talks with Chairman of the Presidium of theCommunist Party of Japan (CPJ) Central Committee Shii Kazuo in Hanoi onDecember 29.

Thuong expressed his belief that the CPJ willcontinue reaping new achievements on the occasion of its upcoming 100th founding anniversary. He thanked the CPJ and Japanese peace lovers forproviding support for Vietnam in the fight for national liberation andreunification in the past as well as national development at present.

Shii, for his part, stressed that ties between the two Partiesover the past 55 years have made contributions to peace and friendshipin Asia as well as friendship between the two nations.

He also believed that the CPV will successfully realise the Resolution adopted by the 13th National Party Congress.

Informing each other about situation of each Party and country, both sidesagreed to promote ties between the two Parties and countries via regularsharing of experience in Party building, socio-economic development andcooperation among mass organisations.

On the occasion, Thuong thanked the Japanese Government, CPJ andJapanese socio-economic organisations and people for assisting Vietnam in the fightagainst COVID-19 pandemic, especially in the supply of vaccines and medicalequipment.

The two sides vowed to continue working closely together tostrengthen peace, security and promote development in the region and the world,step up international cooperation in COVID-19 prevention and control,non-proliferation and disarmament of nuclear weapons, environmental protection,climate change response, and build a world order of peace in accordance with internationallaw./.
