Jakarta (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia on March 23recommended Vietnamese citizens to strictly follow regulations on COVID-19prevention and control of the host country.
The embassy said inits statement that as of March 22, Indonesia had recorded 514 infection cases,including 48 fatalities and 29 completely-recovered patients.
Amid complicateddevelopments of the pandemic, the Vietnamese Government decided to temporarilysuspend entry of all foreigners and suspend the validity of visa exemptioncertificates granted to all overseas Vietnamese and their relatives from 0:00on March 22.
Other ASEAN countriessuch as Thailand, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia and Indonesia haveimposed travel restrictions, thus hampering the travel of Vietnamese citizensthere.
Therefore, the embassyadvised Vietnamese citizens in Indonesia to avoid non-essential travel backhome during this time.
If a Vietnamese citizendesires to return home because of urgent reasons, he/she must fill in an onlineapplication form available on the embassy’s website. The embassy will reviewthe request and coordinate with authorities of both sides to support him/her.
