Vietnamese, German districts to set up fraternal ties

Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi and Lichtenberg of Berlin signed a document on preparations for the two localities to become sister towns in Berlin on Nov. 17.
Hoan Kiem district of Hanoi and Lichtenberg of Berlin signed a documenton preparations for the two localities to become sister towns in Berlinon Nov. 17.

Signatories were Hoang Cong Khoi, Secretary of Hoan Kiem Party Committee and Christina Emmrich, Governor of Lichtenberg.

Underthe signed agreement, the two sides will exchange information andexperiences in urban planning and development, protection of environmentand the nature, real estate management, and development of localbusiness areas between 2010-2012.

The two sides also agreed tosupport ties between Lichtenberg’s Alexander Puschkin school and HoanKiem’s Vietnam-Germany Senior High School .

Addressing theevent, Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Do Hoa Binh expressed thanks tothe Lichtenberg’s governor for helping about 4,000 Vietnamese peopleliving in the district.

While in Berlin until Nov. 21, Khoiand the delegation of Hoan Kiem district will attend seminars on thefields that the two sides plan to cooperate./.
