Vietnamese embassies mark Party’s founding anniversary

Vietnamese embassies abroad have organised pre-Tet get-togethers and celebrations of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV)’s 80th founding anniversary.

In Cambodia , Ambassador Ngo Anh Dung hosted a reception on Feb. 2 withthe participation of Cambodian Government officials and a large numberof overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese students.

He informed overseas Vietnamese about big events to be held in Vietnam, especially the country’s assumption of the ASEAN Chair, in 2010.

The Ambassador took this occasion to express hopes to receivecontinuous cooperation from relevant Cambodian authorities at alllevels to further boost the two countries’ friendship in line with themotto “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, all-sidedcooperation, and long term durability.”

The CPV Committee and Embassy in Cuba jointly marked the Party’s 80 thfounding anniversary on Feb. 1 during which they called on all Partymembers in Cuba to continue responding to the movement “following andstudying Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”.

The Party’s founding anniversary was celebrated in Laos on Feb. 3 in anevent organised by the Vietnamese Business Association for Cooperationand Investment in Laos .

The event was attended by Laos Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavadand Deputy Planning and Investment Minister Thongmi Phomvisay, andVietnamese Ambassador Ta Minh Chau, among other guests.

Chairman of the Association Hoang Cung Thuong Nhan said Vietnameseinvestors in Laos are fully aware of their responsibilities instrengthening the special solidarity between Vietnam and Laos .

In 2009, Vietnamese businesses invested in 48 projects with a totalregistered capital of 1.42 billion USD in Laos , leading otherinvestors in the country./.
