Vietnamese, Cuban youths enhance cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – FirstSecretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee LeQuoc Phong lauded the ongoing visit by First Secretary of the NationalCommittee of the Young Communist League of Cuba (UJC) Susely Morfar Gonzálezduring their talks in Hanoi on May 18.

The visit is taking place at atime when the Vietnamese people are celebrating the 128th birthanniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19) while the Cuban people aremarking the 123rd death anniversary of Cuban leader Jose Marti (May19).

Phong hailed growing ties betweenHCYU and UJC over the past years with the signing of the 2018-2023 cooperationagreement, considering it an important milestone in bilateral relations and helpingto further improve the efficiency of cooperation between Vietnamese and Cubanyouths.

He suggested increasingactivities to raise young peoples’ awareness of the Vietnam-Cuba special andlong-standing friendship; actively sharing experience in youth-related activities;promoting innovation, science-technology and youth development projects as wellas taking full advantage of information technology in national development.

González, for her part, thankedthe HCYU Central Committee for supporting the UJC National Committee over thepast years.

She said experiences acquiredduring the visit will help UJC fulfill its task of building youth guidancepolicies.

González also expressed her beliefthat Vietnamese and Cuban young people would be determined to realisecooperation contents in the new period.-VNA
