Vice President of the Vietnamese Writers’ Association NguyenQuang Thieu said that the visit by Cuban friends was a chance for Vietnameseand Cuban writers to meet and share experience.
It also offered an opportunity for Vietnamese writers tounderstand more about Cuba’s literature during the renewal process and expresssolidarity with the Cuban nation, people and literature.
At the event, Cuban writer and journalist Marta RojasRodrigues, author of the famous book titled “the south of Vietnam: strategic weaponis people”, talked about her book and the path that brought her to journalism,literature and Vietnam.
She affirmed that exchanges and meetings will tightensolidarity between the two countries’ writers and help them create more worksabout each other’s culture and people.
On this occasion, the Vietnamese Writers’ Associationpresented the English version of the historical-documentary novel “A WarAccount 1-2-3-4.75” of journalist-writer Tran Mai Hanh, who was awarded the FélixElmuza Award from the Association of Cuban Journalists, to the Cuban delegation.-VNA
