Vietnamese, Cuban ministries target stronger cooperation

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s Ministry of PublicSecurity and the Cuban Ministry of Interior sought ways to deepen cooperationduring online talks between their ministers on June 23.  

At the talks, Minister of Public Security To Lam said the Party, State and people of Vietnam in general, and his ministryin particular always treasure and keep in mind the solidarity and wholeheartedsupport, both materially and spiritually, Cuba has granted to Vietnam during theSoutheast Asian nation’s past struggle for national liberation as well as the presentcause of national construction and defence.

He lauded Cuba’s successes in COVID-19 vaccineresearch and production towards becoming one of the first countries in the world toadminister home-grown vaccines to its entire population.

Cuban Minister of Interior Lazaro AlbertoÁlvarez Casas spoke highly cooperation between the two ministries over the pasttime, stressing that his ministry always makes all-out efforts to maintain anddevelop the solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

The Cuban side also stands ready to enhance and expandcollaboration with the Vietnamese ministry in all fields, especially in safeguardingnational defence, and social order and safety, for the sake of the two countries’people, and regional and global peace and stability.

On this occasion, Lam handed over 100 tonnes of rice tothe Cuban ministry to share difficulties facing the Latin American country./.
