According to the agency, the number of Vietnamese people inJapan reached 432,934, accounting for 15.7 percent of the total foreigners inthe country.
The Republic of Korea came third with a community that madeup 14.8 percent of total foreigners in Japan, followed by those from thePhilippines and Brazil with 10.5 percent and 7.4 percent respectively.
As of the end of 2021, Japan had hosted over 2.76 millionforeigners, down 4.4 percent from the same period last year, mostly because oftighter border management due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The agency reported that last year, the number of foreigners who were requestedto leave Japan for violating immigration regulations fell by 1,328 to 4,122./.
