Vietnamese companies hope to make a splash at Seafood Expo Global

According to Truong DinhHoe, general secretary of VASEP, Vietnamese companies have brought awide diversity of products to the largest seafood trade event in theEuropean Union (EU), with shrimp, tra and basa fish among the productson show.

Tuna products specially made for the European market were also introduced at the event, Hoe said.

The EU accounts for 20 percent of Vietnam’s total seafood exports, equal to 1.5 million tonnes, Hoe added.

Nguyen Thi Thu Sac, general director of the Hai Nam seafoodprocessing company, which exports 40 percent of its products to Europe,said that the company has been attending the event since 2000 to seeknew customers and keep old clients.

The SEG istaking place from April 21-23 at the Heysel Exhibition Park inBrussels, Belgium’s capital city, drawing 2,000 enterprises from 100countries.-VNA
