Hanoi (VNA) - Nearly 340 Vietnamese citizens have been brought home safelyfrom the UK on a flight that touched down in Vietnam on June 4.
Theflight was arranged by the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK, authorities in Vietnamand national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.
Itleft Heathrow Airport in London on June 3 and landed at Tan Son NhatInternational Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.
The passengers were children, students, the elderly and sick along with a number of touristswhose UK visas had expired but were previously unable to leave due toborder closures.
TheEmbassy of Vietnam in London has instructed citizens to complete all requiredprocedures and cooperate with local authorities to support them duringtheir journey home.
Uponlanding, passengers and cabin crew members undertook medicalchecks and were quarantined in line with regulations.
TheMinistry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transport and other Government’sagencies, Vietnam Airline will continue arranging flights to bring its citizenshome depending on the COVID-19 pandemic's developments, quarantinecapacity of Vietnamese localities, and the demand of Vietnamese citizens livingoverseas./.
