Vietnamese, Chinese youth seek closer ties

Beijing(VNA) – Vietnam’ and China’s youth organisations should enhance exchangeactivities and partnerships in personnel training, said Le Quoc Phong, FirstSecretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union’s Central Committee at ameeting with First Secretary of the China Communist Youth League’s CentralCommittee Qin Yizhi in Beijing on May 21.

The two sidesshould encourage young entrepreneurs to share experience and seek investmentopportunities in each country, he said.

Affirming thatthe Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Vietnam attaches importance to tieswith China’s Communist Youth League, Phong asserted that the two sides should worktogether to implement agreements reached by senior leaders of the two Partiesand State, while continuing underway cooperation activities.

According toPhong, the two sides should also continue backing young reporters and mediaofficials of the two youth unions to meet and share experience and skills.

At the meeting, Qinwelcomed the Vietnamese delegation’s visit, describing it as a good chance tobolster the partnership between the two countries.

He said thatexchange activities between the youth of Vietnam and China will reinforce thetraditional friendship between the neighbouring nations.

Qin affirmedthat the China Communist Youth League will work to maintain and supportrelations between the two countries. He also recalled the warm welcome thatVietnamese people gave him during his visit in November 2016.

He said that inthe futures, both youth unions should engage in people-to-people connectionactivities, especially in border localities, while paying more attention totraining youth union officials and strengthening cooperation among youngentrepreneurs.

On May 22, Phongis scheduled to meet with head of the Communist Party of China’s InternationalLiaison Department Song Tao, and Vice President Li Yuanchao.-VNA
