Minister of Public Security General Tran Dai Quang held talks with Chinese Minister of State Security Geng Huichang in Hanoi on October 19.
Reviewing their past cooperation, both sides agreed on a range of matters including consultation to handle new security-related threats, orientations for future cooperation, implementation of signed agreements, completion of their cooperative mechanisms
Their focus in the near future will also be the increase of delegation exchanges and mutual assistance in personnel and technical equipment.
Minister Quang welcomed the visit to Vietnam by Minister Geng and his entourage, saying that it would contribute to deepening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries.
For his part, the Chinese Minister congratulated the Vietnam Public Security on its achievements over the past 70 years and contributions to cementing the Vietnam-China cooperation and traditional friendship.
The Chinese delegation is on an official visit to Vietnam from October 16 - 20.-VNA
