Vietnamese, Cambodian villages tighten solidarity

This is theresult of the twinning relationship between Hoa Khanh village and PrayCo Ros village in Pray Co Ros commune, Kom Pong Trach district, Kam Potprovince, Cambodia, which was established in late December 2012.

Since the special linkage was set up, the two sides have encouragedtheir residents to protect the shared border and markers while activelyfighting illegal border crossings, trafficking of women and children,and smuggling.

They have also joined hands in combatingdiseases and supported each other in production, making thesolidarity and friendship a tradition shared by the two localities’people.

Nguyen Van Trung, head of Hoa Khanh village, saidthe close relationship between the two communities has helped raise thespirit of responsibility among local people in implementing borderregulations.

Meanwhile, the solidarity between people in MyLo village, My Duc commune, Ha Tien town, Kien Giang province and thosein Tho Cau village, Ru Xay Soc Tay commune, Kom Pong province, have alsobeen consolidated after the two villages were twinned.

Along with partnering with each other in combating smuggling, peoplefrom both localities have coordinated to protect their common borderlineand markers, and abide by border regulations while supporting eachother in production.

Sen. Lt. Col. Dang Van Thong, politicalcommissar of the Kien Giang Border Guard Command, said the policy tostep up twinning relationships between the two countries’ border peoplehave been implemented for many years, contributing to enhancingsolidarity while protecting each side’s sovereignty.-VNA
