Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam values and wants to deepenrelations with the UK across the sectors of climate change, energy transition,digital transformation, sustainable growth, technology, finance and humanresources training, stated Politburo member and head of the Party CentralCommittee's Economic Commission Tran Tuan Anh.

The official made his statement while receiving GrahamStuart, UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos in Hanoi onApril 4.

At the reception, Anh expressed his delight at the growingVietnam – UK strategic partnership and thanked the UK’s assistance for Vietnam’sCOVID-19 response efforts.

He affirmed Vietnam supports the UK in strengthening itseconomic and trade cooperation with the region and is willing to shareinformation and experience in joining the Comprehensive and ProgressiveAgreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Stressing the Vietnamese Party’s and Government’s determinationto implement Vietnam’s commitments at the 26th United Nations Climate ChangeConference of the Parties (COP26), he said he hopes the two nations will furtherstrengthen their cooperation for mutual benefits, contributing to solvingglobal challenges.

For his part, Stuart said he is delighted with the sides’positive trade outcomes since the UK – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement came intoforce and thanked Vietnam’s support for the UK’s accession to the CPTPP.

Welcoming Vietnam’s commitments at COP26, the envoy statedhe will continue to ssist and work closely with Vietnam in realising them.

Informing that G7 countries have agreed to adopt a fair energytransition platform for Vietnam, Stuart agreed to make efforts to promote moreeffective and substantive economic, trade and investment cooperation betweenthe two countries in line with their wishes and interests./.
