National Assembly Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan held talks with Speaker of the House of Representative of the Japan’s parliament Tadamori Oshima in Tokyo on August 25, during which she proposed that the two sides increase delegation exchanges to foster legislative ties.
Ngan, who is on her ongoing visit to Japan to the World Assembly for Woman 2015, expressed her delight at the growing partnership between the two countries as well as the two legislative bodies.
She vowed that Vietnam always pursues an active and proactive bilateral and multilateral external policy, contributing to peace and stability in the region and the world.
Tadamori Oshima pledged that he will do his utmost for the stronger ties between the two parliaments.
He revealed that he plans to meet National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung on the sidelines of the World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments slated for September this year.
Regarding the East Sea issue, both sides agreed that the matter should be dealt with through peaceful measures in conformity with international law, contributing to the development and prosperity in the world.
Also on August 25, Ngan had a meeting with Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Hideaki Momichi, during which she spoke highly of the role that the JICA plays in Vietnam’s economic development.
She suggested that JICA continue assisting Vietnam in building infrastructure system to serve the country’s industrialisation and modernisation process.
The NA Vice Chairwoman also highly valued the programme to give children and maternal health assistance in Vietnam, proposing that the agency expand the programme to all 63 localities across Vietnam.
During her stay, Ngan visited a number of major Japanese businesses.-VNA
