Vietnam wins three golds at 50th International Physics Olympiad

All five members of the Vietnamese team participating in the 50th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) which concluded in Tel Aviv, Israel, on July 14, won medals, including three gold medals and two silvers.

All five members of the Vietnamese team participating in the50th International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) which concluded in Tel Aviv,Israel, on July 14, won medals, including three gold medals and two silvers.

The goldmedalists are Tran Xuan Tung, a student at Hanoi-Amsterdam HighSchool, Nguyen Xuan Ung from University of Science’s High School forGifted Students under Vietnam National University, Hanoi and Nguyen KhanhLinh from Thanh Hoa province's Lam Son High School.

Thesilver medal winners are Le Viet Hoang from Bien Hoa High School forGifted Students in Ha Nam province and Trinh Duy Hieu from Bac Giang High Schoolfor Gifted Students in the northern province of Bac Giang. All the medalwinners are 12th graders.

The IPhOis an annual competition in physics for high school students whichinvolves individual theoretical and experimental contests.

The 50thIPhO was organised and supported by the Ministry of Education ofIsrael and the School of Physics and Astronomy at Tel Aviv University fromJuly 7 to 15 with participation of 360 students from 78 countries andterritories.

With thefive medals, Vietnam ranked fourth behind China and the Republic of Korea – bothearning five gold medals – and Russia with four gold medals.

Last year, the Vietnameseteam won two gold medals, two silvers and one bronze.-VNA

The Mekong Delta province of Bac Lieu on October 21 signed a cooperation agreement with Uiseong county, Gyeongsangbuk-do province of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on sending local labourers to the RoK to work seasonally under the form of locality-to-locality collaboration between the two countries in the 2023 - 2027 period.

Tien Giang strives to reduce poverty rate to 0.87% this year
