Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamwelcomes investors from Russia and Kursk province in particular and will providethem with all possible support, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh told Kursk GovernorAlexander Mikhailov during a reception in Hanoi on December 7.

The host expressed her beliefthat the signing of the free trade agreement between Vietnam and the EurasianEconomic Union will offer new opportunities to localities, adding that tradebetween Vietnam and Kursk is still modest at only 2-3 million USD compared toVietnam-Russia trade, which currently hits 3 billion USD per year.

She wished that Kursk and thecentral province of Ninh Thuan would enhance partnership in agriculture andindustry, and suggested the Kursk authorities offer further assistance to appareljoint ventures between Vietnamese companies and local partners operating in theprovince.

Governor Mikhailov informed thehost that he will attend business forums in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and NinhThuan, which he said, will offer opportunities to develop economic ties betweenKursk and Vietnamese localities.

Kursk is strong in agricultureand willing to export sugar and cereals to Vietnam, he said, adding that localfirms are willing to invest in Vietnam./.
